Report an Accident / IncidentIt is important that all accidents, incidents and near misses are recorded, no matter how trivial they may seem.
Report an accident or incident in RMSS
If you do not have access to RMSS you should contact the Operations Manager or the School Health and Safety Representative to manually report your accident or incident. Why Report All Accidents / Incidents? It may seem trivial reporting very minor injuries (such as a paper cut or being pricked by a staple), or indeed where it is only a near miss and an injury has not even occurred. However, early reporting of these types of incidents helps to identify and rectify faulty plant or practices before a more serious incident, and provides an incident trail in the event of any complications occurring down the track. The diagram below shows minor injuries and near misses are often warning signs of a more major incident; by reporting all accidents and incidents, you can help prevent more serious incidents and contribute to a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
